The Anatomy of DIN 5008 Form B

Strict European business letter standards demand precise millimeter geometry. Here is how each standardized zone operates across DIN A4 paper dimensions (210 × 297 mm).

Zone 1 • 0–45 mm Header

Corporate Header & Logo

Form B provides an expanded 45 mm header zone (compared to only 27 mm in Form A). This offers generous room for high-resolution company logos, multi-line contact details, and corporate slogans without crowding the recipient address field.

Zone 2 • 45–90 mm 85 × 45 mm

Window Address Field

Positioned exactly 45 mm from the top and 25 mm from the left edge. Accommodates a 5 mm single-line return address bar and up to 6 lines of recipient information, perfectly centered behind DIN Lang (DL) and C6/5 envelope windows.

Zone 3 • 125–190 mm Info Block

Reference & Clerk Block

Located on the right-hand side parallel to the address window. Standardized for reference codes (Ihr Zeichen), contact representatives, direct phone lines, and origin date. TwiceDocs allows toggling this block on/off with 1 click.

Zone 4 • Hairlines Marks

Folding & Punch Marks
